Author Talk

What can we learn from the life and photographs of Saskatchewan art photographer Thelma Pepper? Thelma didn’t start taking photographs until almost 60, in the midst of a mid-life depression and seeking new purpose in life. By looking back on her childhood and by following her deepest instincts Thelma found a passion for photography that brought joy to her life and to others. Now 100, she is the subject of a new book titled Thelma: A Life in Pictures. During this artist talk, Amy Jo with share photos and text from the book and discuss the turning points that can awaken a life of passion and personal commitment, no matter at what age. Thelma Pepper is recipient of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award and an upcoming exhibition at Remai Modern art gallery in Saskatoon.
