This three-week workshop will cover the process from creation to preparing for publication of a flash creative nonfiction essay. This course will teach the fundamentals of flash creative nonfiction through reading and writing, provide strategies for revising essays and investigate journals publishing flash CNF. By the end of the workshop, participants would have the tools necessary to transform the kernel of an idea into a flash essay, polish it and seek out publication.

Rachel Laverdiere writes, pots and teaches in Saskatoon. She is CNF co-editor at Barren Magazine and the creator of the creative writing program Hone & Polish Your Writing. Find Rachel's essays in journals such as Lunch Ticket, The Common, CutBank, Pithead Chapel. In 2020, her CNF was shortlisted for CutBank's Big Sky, Small Prose Flash Contest, made The Wigleaf Top 50 and has been nominated for Best of the Net.
