As an SWG Member 

The SWG provides our members with many professional development opportunities. The benefits of membership include the following: 

  • A subscription to Freelance, our quarterly news, craft and business of writing magazine;
  • A subscription to Ebriefs, our weekly e-newsletter full of SWG and industry news, events, calls of interest and professional development opportunities;
  • Member announcements for upcoming events and book launches published on the website and Ebriefs;
  • Free listing on Find Saskatchewan Writers, our online database of Saskatchewan authors;
  • Access to funding through the Author Readings Program for reading events across Saskatchewan (in-person or online);
  • Assist your writing group in meeting grant requirements for SWG Writers Group Grants;
  • Member rates on workshops and writing events;
  • Member rates on the annual Fall Conference, receptions, activities and award dinners;
  • Member rates on Writers’ and Artists’ Retreats and Facilitated Retreats;
  • Access to the Virtual Writer-in-Residence program (for members living outside of Regina and Saskatoon);
  • Vote at the Annual General Meeting and connect with other members, the Board of Directors, and office staff. (Associate members are ineligible to vote);

  • Access to the SWG Library (books must remain in the library);
  • Connection to a wide-ranging community of Saskatchewan writers who are at all levels of development and who work in all genres;
  • A10% discount at McNally Robinson in Saskatoon - in-store and online. Please show valid SWG membership at point of purchase; and
  • Eligibility for: paid opportunities, such as work as an evaluator for the MS Evaluation Service, One Book, One Province (organized by the Saskatchewan Library Association), the Hyland Volunteer Award, and to be a SWG Board Member
