To help encourage schools, libraries and community organizations to host author readings with Saskatchewan writers in a time of COVID, the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild waived the usual $60 subsidized reading fee and encouraged online events through the Author Readings Program.

In four short months, over 40 organizations hosted free readings with close to 20 Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild authors. Over 2800 minutes were spent engaged with these authors as they read their work, discussed their craft, and shared encouragement and inspiration with Saskatchewan book lovers of all ages.

For every approved reading, host organizations are entered into a draw to win one of 10 prizes of 10 free books each. Each winner will choose the books they want in their prize pack, adhering to simple guidelines: the 10 books must all be from the same author (all 10 can be the same or different, so long as it’s the same author), and the author must be a current Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild member. We encourage winners to choose books from the author who did their reading, but it’s not mandatory.

Winners will be contacted following the draw to arrange their prize.
