Liberty Emkeit, mentored by dee Hobsbawn-Smith
Liberty Emkeit is a proud Metis woman who is a creative non-fiction writer and spoken word artist. She has performed on the stage since 2017. Aspen Enzo, mentored by Leslie Vryenhoek
Aspen Enzo is a poet, essayist, and auto theoretician whose work centres on the revolutionary possibilities of queer family making and re-making. On- and off- the page, they celebrate queer love stories, revel in fat trans joy, and strive to live their values in a world that wants to keep us apart & afraid. Like the trees for which they are named, Aspen thrives in community with roots intertwined. Aspen lives under big prairie skies, collecting both ampersands and knitting projects in the place colonially known as Regina, SK. They are currently working on their first book.

Marie Lovrod, mentored by Anne Lazurko
Marie Lovrod has been working for several years on poetry and creative non-fiction projects. Since moving to Saskatchewan nearly two decades ago, she has taken part in several Saskatchewan Writer’s Guild self-guided and facilitated writing retreats, and recently enjoyed a productive stay at Wallace Stegner house. Marie has also been honing her writing practice with a stable weekly writing group, and is grateful for the opportunity to work with her extraordinary writing mentor, Anne Lazurko. Born and now working again on Treaty 6 Territory, Marie remains invested in creative approaches to problem solving and communities committed to nurturing processes of respectful, co-constructive meaning-making. She values humility in learning and works from the principle that everyone and everything matters.
Shayna Stock, mentored by Bruce Rice
Shayna Stock (she/her) daydreams about queer lineage, community-based responses to violence, and breakfast. She has performed spoken word on many stages and street corners. Her poetry has been published in Grain Magazine, Spring, and the anthology "apart: a year of pandemic poetry and prose." Raised on the shores of Lake Huron, she now lives in Regina/Treaty 4 with her partner and two dependents – an excitable mini schnauzer, and a neurotic Weimaraner.
Jamen Willis, mentored by Francine Cunningham
Jamen Willis is a Métis writer and student who is currently pursuing a Bachelor Arts Honours in English with a minor in Spanish due to her love of reading. She is also fond of language learning, travelling, and, of course, writing! She is currently working on a multiple POV short story collection about characters who encounter one another in an airport.
