The SWG is now accepting applications for the Writers’ and Artists’ Summer Retreat, to be held for the weeks of July 9-30, 2021.
Writers’ and Artists’ Retreats are for established and practicing writers and artists who are able to work independently. These are offered for writers and artists from Saskatchewan and other parts of Canada. Please note that these retreats are not teaching situations, but places where established and practicing writers of all genres, are expected to work independently.
The fees are $385 for in-province SWG members, $485 for out-of-province SWG members, and $585 for out-of-province non-members. Studio fees for visual artists are $100 per week. All participants receive a private room and all meals for 7 days. Space is limited.
Please note that the SWG and St. Peter’s Abbey are following Saskatchewan health guidelines very carefully to ensure we can provide safe and enjoyable retreats. This retreat will be held in Lower Severin Hall, which has private rooms and bathrooms for each retreatant, as well as communal space large enough to accommodate social distancing. Meals will be individually served, and masks and social distancing are required for all communal areas. All applicants must be prepared to follow our requirements of wearing masks and social distancing, provide their own transportation to and from the retreat, and provide proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID test before attending the retreat.
The application deadline is midnight on May 15, 2021.
