Character Development: Bringing Your Characters to Life

Have you ever wondered how writers create such realistic characters in their stories? Mary Harelkin Bishop is excited to share her knowledge and experience in creating believable characters who sometimes feel as if they could be your family members or your best friends! Mary will offer ideas and suggestions for developing realistic characters. Whether they are characters your readers will love, or characters your readers will love to hate, Mary will provide tools and techniques that will help bring your characters to life!

Mary Harelkin Bishop has lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan since she was 12 years old and considers herself a prairie person.  Writing has always been very important in her life.  She is the author of the Canadian best-selling Tunnels of Time Moose Jaw Adventure Series and has been revising and updating the series for the next generation of readers. Her newest books have been listed in the Canadian Childrens’ Book Centre’s Best Books for Kids and Teens, three years running.  Mary enjoys biking, skiing and kayaking.  She also enjoys talking to people of all ages about books and writing.
