Dystopian Literature: History and Relevance

Explore the world of dystopian literature with Regina Public Library's 2024-25 Writer in Residence, Michael Mirolla.

Dystopia is all around us. Join Regina Public Library's 2024-25 Writer in Residence, Michael Mirolla, for a lively presentation about the world of dystopian literature, what it is and how it differs from other speculative fiction, and how current events have led to a rise in popularity. Explore classic dystopian literature, dating back to Gulliver’s Travels, and present-day iterations such as Margaret Atwood’s late novels and Suzanne Collins' YA dystopian trilogy, The Hunger Games
