Online Launch of "apart" Anthology

The SWG is excited to launch our brand-new anthology apart: a year of pandemic poetry and prose. apart paints a vivid portrait of life in a pandemic, when “normal” is a thing of the past and anxiety is a faithful companion. Some of the writing is sad, even heart-breaking, a few pieces are funny and light-hearted, but may provide some much-needed comfort and imagination in a turbulent time. Join editors Courtney Bates-Hardy and Dave Margoshes as they present some of our many talented contributors in an evening of readings.

Readings by:

Born in northern India, Moni Brar now lives in Calgary on unsurrendered territories of the Treaty 7 region and Syilx Okanagan Nation. Her writing explores the interrelation of time, place and identity in the immigrant experience, diasporan guilt, intergenerational trauma, and colonization. She believes art contains the possibility of healing. Her work appears in PRISMPassages NorthPrairie Fire, Hobart, and others.

Joan Crate lives in Calgary and the Okanagan but visits Saskatchewan when it’s not winter.
