Personal Essay Workshop: Take Your Worst Moments and Use Them for Your Life Writing

Learn trade secrets from a seasoned professional with twenty-eight years experience as a freelance writer.

Robertson's essay work has appeared in Reader's Digest, The Walrus, Broadview, Canadian Living, Best Health, the Christian Science Monitor, The Globe and Mail Books and the Women's Review of Books.

Robertson has learned from experience to take her worst moments and gleefully turn them into material. Students will get an in-depth exploration of the personal essay form in this one-day, hands-on workshop.

Learn how to execute a great essay from first draft to polished submission. How do you choose your subject matter? What's the best way to tap into your unique writer's voice? At the conclusion of this intensive workshop, students will leave with the necessary tools to write compelling personal essays and with a solid first draft in hand to develop for future submissions.
