Heather O'Watch

Tansi, Umba Wasté!

Heather O'Watch is a Nakota and Cree woman from the Okanese First Nation located in Treaty 4 Territory, she also has paternal ties to Cegakin (Carry The Kettle) First Nation. Heather has recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Studies and is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Saskatchewan. When not studying, Heather is working to develop her creative writing skills. Heather is an alumni for 2020-2021 SK Indigenous Writer's Mentorship program where she spent time working on her 1st children's book. In July 2021, Heather won the Second Story Press' Indigenous Writers Contest where she recieved a publishing contract for her upcoming book.
