Gabriele McClure is a Saskatoon-based writer, healer, and end-of-life companion whose work blends memoir, cultural reflection, and the deep emotional truths found in hospice care. For more than twenty years, she has supported individuals and families at the bedside, witnessing firsthand the intimate, transformative moments that shape our understanding of grief and love. These experiences form the foundation of her upcoming book, Compassionate Connections: Hospice Journeys, a collection of true stories recently praised by editors for its pristine writing and profound emotional clarity.
Born in Germany and later settling in Canada, Gabi’s perspective is also shaped by her years in Hawai‘i, where she encountered open, communal, heart-forward approaches to mourning. She continues to explore these contrasts in her second work-in-progress, Life Beyond Loss, which examines grief across cultures and personal experience.
Through all her writing, Gabi seeks to honour the spirit, dignity, and love that continue even after a final breath.
