Jennifer Jacoby-Smith

Jennifer Jacoby-Smith fell in love with books as a little girl. Those printed pages transported her to new worlds. When someone explained that an author worked with words, she knew her path had been chosen. Her passion for the written word eventually turned into a career in media. She’s spent over 20 years crafting content for clients and special publications across Canada, with 15 years spent with PostMedia Content Works (The StarPhoenix). Recently, Jennifer decided it was time to tell her own stories. Her debut novel, A Fondness for the Reckless (Your Nickel's Worth Publishing), was released in October 2025. A queer coming of age story about a Canadian boy band on the cusp of fame or breakup. It has been recognized by Saskatchewan Book Awards, Willow Awards, NextGen Indie Awards, and shortlisted for a Whistlers Independent Book Award. In July of 2026, she self-published her passion project — His Name Was James — a personal story of the emotional journey to find her father later in life. On the journey she finds he was a Hollywood hairdresser and salon owner. Jennifer lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with her husband, Richard, a chaotic puppy named Sandy and a grumpy, old cat named Mittens.
