Mikayla is a lifelong reader and writer working on her Master's of Fine Arts through the University of Saskatchewan. After receiving her BA in English Creative Writing in 2014, she developed her professional writing experience by starting and maintaining a food recipe website and working as a freelance content and ghostwriter for other online content creators. Her areas of expertise are in the food and gardening niches.

Her passions are food and cooking, sustainability, and fantasy fiction. She aims to finish the first book of her speculative fantasy eco-fiction series while completing her Master's degree. Her hopes are to see her series published and find a place as a writing educator in a University setting or the community.
