The SWG Annual Conference and AGM will be held October 23 & 24, 2026 in Regina, SK at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel (1975 Broad Street, Regina). All events are in-person with two events also livestreamed for free to an online audience:
The 2026 theme is The Big Picture. Like a camera lens, writers can focus intently on the elements of writing: the best word, the most eloquent phrase, the shape and form of our work. What happens when we zoom out from that initial meeting of pen to paper? How can we explore our writing as a meditation on the larger world around us? What is the role of writers in the world and the impact of the world on writers? Join us for our 2026 Conference as we ask – what’s the bigger picture?
Our conference is designed for both emerging and established Saskatchewan writers, as well as brand-new and long-standing SWG members; please join us to learn more about the craft of writing, meet new writers and catch up with old friends! The program will include the Caroline Heath Memorial Lecture delivered by Jenna Butler, a conversation on co-writing with David Gane and Angie Counios, panel discussions looking forward and back, craft talks on writing fiction and poetry, and our always-popular community stage open mic.
We welcome all members to attend our Annual General Meeting Saturday morning after breakfast to help the Guild conduct important business.
Stay tuned for more information about our schedule and to register for your full conference pass.
