Mad Lib/Build Your Own Poem Workshop with the Noble Savage – Appearances & Residential Schools

The SWG proudly presents Austin “the Noble Savage” Ahenakew’s workshop with host author, Bevann Fox. You will be directed through a simplified version of one of his poems and fill in the blanks. The words you fill in must be related to the photo he displays. Together you will create a storyline poem on the topic of residential schools

Presenter

Austin "The Noble Savage" Ahenakew has a unique style that weaves rhythm into storytelling and announces an urgent truth from the perspective of an Indigenous youth. Bringing an unapologetic approach to Indigenous struggles, abuse, PTSD and how skin colour is viewed.  He brings sweet words to the stage without sugarcoating any part of the truth.
