Request for Proposals For Not-for-Profit Member and Statistics Survey Developer

Request for Proposals

For Not-for-Profit Member and Statistics Survey Developer

For more than 50 years, the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild (SWG) has served the Saskatchewan writing community by delivering over 30 programs and services to its 600+ members and the general public. SWG staff led by an Executive Director and a dedicated policy board operate one of Saskatchewan’s largest and oldest cultural organizations. The SWG also operates a charitable Foundation with funds set aside for program and bursary funding.

The Need:

The SWG seeks to engage a survey developer in order to do a comprehensive survey of the SWG membership and those that engage with SWG programming. Two strategic areas of focus identified by the SWG board were sustainability and relevance.

The survey assists the SWG in determining who our members are and what they might need or want from their membership. The gathering of this data is critical for the future design and dissemination of programs and services, and it provides the organization with the groundwork to monitor and deliver on its strategic goals.

Requirements:

The survey developer should be familiar with not-for-profit and cultural organizations, have a proven record of survey development in Saskatchewan, be familiar with best practices for surveys and their dissemination, and be able to collate and rationalize statistics/responses in a cohesive format.

Specifically, the consultant would:

  1. Create, in conjunction with staff and board, a comprehensive survey for the SWG that includes programming, services, accessibility needs, and other information deemed relevant.
  2. Disseminate the survey to members.
  3. Disseminate a shorter survey to members of the public.
  4. Collate the responses and statistics and advise the staff and board on methods or approaches for analyzing data.

The project will require extensive conversations with staff and the board for clarity. The final documentation will be owned by the SWG and will be completed in a format compatible with its operations.

Time Frame:

Proposals will be submitted electronically to:

Ms. Tracy Hamon, Executive Director (at director@skwriter.com).

The deadline is Thursday, December 14 at 11:59 p.m. The project is expected to start in January 2024 and be finished by the end of March 2024.

Budget: The project budget is $5,000. The SWG will select the consultant based on the value and experience provided and may not select the lowest-priced proposal.
