Arnolda Dufour Bowes is an award-winning Cree-Métis storyteller and multi-disciplinary artist from Saskatchewan. Her art exhibit and short film were featured in three galleries in 2024 & 2025, and were based on her book 20.12m that won the Danuta Gleed award in 2022 and the High Plains Award in 2021. Her debut novel for young readers, Maggie-Lou, Firefox, blazed onto the scene with a star review from Kirkus Reviews. And Maggie Lou Meets Her Match hits shelves in August 2025—this series is currently being developed into an animation.
Arnolda is a Playwright Resident at the Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre with a play in production for Spring 2026. She currently runs writing workshops for the Sask Teachers Federation and was a facilitator for the Sask Correctional Facility for the Inspired Minds Creative Writing program run by the UofS and UofA.
Arnolda is a Whistler Film Festival alumnus. Her feature script was a quarterfinalist in the Vancouver International Women in Film and Television Screenwriting Contest. She was also chosen for the Netflix—Diversity of Voices at the Banff World Media Festival 2024, and she is currently a member of the 2025 Screenwriters Lab. She's passionate about pushing the boundaries of her creative knowledge and has a feature and short film in development.
