Bernice Richard is a publishing consultant, business mentor, and published author of eight books based in Regina, Saskatchewan. As the founder of Noc & Bez Creative Inc., she works with first-time and emerging authors to clarify the identity of their manuscript, strengthen its structure and audience alignment, and prepare it for the publishing process.
Her editorial consultations are market-focused and reader-centred — she evaluates whether a manuscript achieves what it has set out to do for its intended audience and provides specific, prioritized recommendations to help authors get there. She has worked with authors writing across memoir, marriage narratives, personal development, and children's literature.
Bernice holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and a PMP designation, and brings both a practitioner's knowledge of the publishing process and a reader's instinct for what makes a manuscript land. She is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, YWCA Women of Distinction Innovation Award, 2022 Canada Top Black Women and 2023 BlackinSask Woman of Excellence. She is particularly passionate about supporting first-time, immigrant, and BIPOC authors navigating the gap between a completed manuscript and a publishable book.
