Joan Soggie

Joan Soggie grew up on land homesteaded by her grandparents and has lived most of her life in rural Saskatchewan. The strong connection between people and the land was the theme of her first full-length book, Looking for Aiktow: Stories behind the History of The Elbow of the South Saskatchewan River. That theme carries on through her 2020 historical novel, Prairie Grass and is expanded in the pioneer saga of Rikka, published 2021.

Joan and her husband Dennis live in Elbow, Saskatchewan.
