Leah Horlick is the author of three books of poetry. Her long-awaited, most recent collection Moldovan Hotel is available now from Brick Books. Leah's first book, Riot Lung (Thistledown Press, 2012), was shortlisted for a 2013 ReLit Award and a Saskatchewan Book Award. With JackPine Press, she wrote and produced wreckoning, a chapbook with artist Alison Roth Cooley. Leah's second collection, For Your Own Good (Caitlin Press, 2015), was named a 2016 Stonewall Honor Title by the American Library Association. That same year, Leah was awarded the Dayne Ogilvie Prize, Canada's only award for LGBTQ emerging writers. In 2018, her piece "You Are My Hiding Place" was named Arc Poetry Magazine's Poem of the Year. From 2012-2017, Leah and her dear friend Estlin McPhee ran REVERB, a queer and anti-oppressive reading series. Leah is the 2022-23 Canadian Writer in Residence with the Calgary Distinguished Writers' Program at the University of Calgary. After many years away, she is happy to be back in Saskatoon.
