Lili retired from a 25 year career with government where she worked as a front-line social worker with youth and abused women before administering health benefits to WWII veterans and a funding program for intellectually disabled adults in long-term care. In her closing five years, she administered an economic development funding program.

Throughout her adult life, she wrote short stories and poems, and co-wrote a screenplay for which she had representation. Her debut young adult novel is published by Pete's Press with a release date of December 10, 2025.

Lili has participated in several writing workshops, including Michael Hague's Six Stage Plot Structure and Novel Revision through UBC's Creative Writing Program.
