Marlis Wesseler lives in Regina where, besides writing fiction, she has worked in education and publishing. She has written five books: Life Skills, Imitating Art, Elvis Unplugged, South of the Border, and now, The Last Chance Ladies’ Book Club, to good reviews and several Saskatchewan Book Award nominations. An earlier version of The Last Chance Ladies’ Book Club won a John V. Hicks Long Manuscript Award, and the published book was short-listed for three Saskatchewan Book Awards and won the Woman Writer category in the High Plains Book Awards.
