I am a retired scientist that researched trees for prairie shelterbelts for 35 years. After a career of writing scientific papers I moved to researching and writing non fiction. My first attempt resulted in  the self published book 'The Trees of Indian Head'. From I began a six year journey researching the birth of prairie shelterbelt planting. This research culminated with the publishing of 'Trees Against the Wind - The Birth of Prairie Shelterbelts'  by Nature Saskatchewan. 

When not writing I still help farmers with their tree problems, collect tree seeds and follow our grandchildren in whatever activity in which they are involved.

Work has begun on my next historical tree book, telling the story of unsung prairie tree breeders that made such a difference to our landscape.
