Book Bytes is a lunchtime, online summer reading series celebrating the work of Saskatchewan writers of diverse genres, identities, and experience levels. Events run every Wednesday lunch hour from 12-1 pm (Saskatchewan time) beginning on July 19, 2023, via Zoom.

Betty Ternier Daniels lives with her husband Doug and their cat Diesel on her family farm in northwest Saskatchewan. Like the protagonist of her novel, she has two adult children and is a member of the National Farmers Union. Betty enjoys reading, live theatre, food, and gardening. Family Matters is her first novel. It will be published by ECW Press in 2024.
Holly Luhning is a poet and a novelist; she is the author of a collection of poetry, Sway (Thistledown Press), two chapbooks, Plush (JackPine Press) and Pharmacoi; A Mechanical Account of Poisons in Several Essays (Contraband Books UK), a novel, Quiver (HarperCollins Canada), and several non-fiction travel essays. She lives on a farm near Lumsden, Saskatchewan.
Xauri’EL Zwaan is a mendicant artist in search of meaning, fame and fortune, or pie (where available); a Genderqueer Bisexual, a Socialist Solarpunk, and a Satanist Goth. Zie has published short fiction, among other places, in Neo-Opsis, the Simultaneous Times podcast, Cossmass Infinities, and Galaxy’s Edge. Zie lives and writes in a little hobbit hole in Saskatoon, Canada on Treaty 6 territory with zir life partner and two very lazy cats.
Sabrina Cataldo is a non-fiction writer from Regina. By day, she works as a Senior Copywriter at Brandt, and by night, she has been known to perform in local musical theatre productions. She served for more than 15 years as the Communications Strategist for SK Arts, where she received multiple national awards for writing and producing the agency’s Annual Report. Sabrina was awarded the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers for her work on the boards of Regina Cat Rescue, Regina Lyric Musical Theatre, and Carmichael Outreach. And she recently completed her Master of Arts in English from the University of Regina.
