Little Workshop of Horrors: An Introduction to Horror Writing
This session will cover the basics of horror writing, from igniting a sense of dread in readers to stoking their worst fears. The presenter will talk about the characteristics of various horror subgenres, popular tropes, impactful imagery, and common themes. This will all be interwoven into a discussion of broader storytelling aspects such as character, plot, pacing, and setting. The workshop will have tips and tricks for writers at all stages of their project, whether they're at the ideation phase or polishing the final product.
