Amy Jo Ehman is an author and freelancer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She holds a BA in Journalism (U of Regina). Prior work includes the Ottawa Citizen, CBC TV & Radio and the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, where she served as local food columnist for ten years. When the daily newsroom grind got too grind-y she left the office to make a living as an author and freelancer. She has published five books.
As a writer, she loves to explore the intersection of food and history, especially through recipes and photographs. She received a Saskatchewan Book Award for Best First Book for Prairie Feast and was shortlisted by Taste Canada and High Plains book awards. Her book Out of Old Saskatchewan Kitchens was selected by the Saskatchewan Library Association for One Book-One Province in 2018.
Her newest book is Thelma: A Life in Pictures, a pictoral biography of Saskatcehwan art photographer (and centennarian!) Thelma Pepper. Visit her website at www.ajehman.com
