Amy Jo Ehman is an author and freelance writer in Saskatoon. She holds a BA in Journalism (U of Regina). Prior work includes the Ottawa Citizen, CBC TV & Radio and Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, where she wrote a local food column for ten years. When the daily newsroom grind got too grind-y she left the office to make a living as a freelancer. She has published five books.
As a writer, she explores the intersection of food, history and archival photographs. She received the "Best First Book" Saskatchewan Book Award for Prairie Feast and was shortlisted by Taste Canada and High Plains book awards. Her book Out of Old Saskatchewan Kitchens was selected by the Saskatchewan Library Association for One Book-One Province in 2018.
Her latest book is Thelma: A Life in Pictures, a pictoral biography of Saskatcehwan art photographer and centennarian Thelma Pepper. She is currenty working on a history of wheat.
