Ananta (Dimple Mehta) hails from India and calls Canada home now. Writing, for her, was an escape into a different world, as a very shy teenager. Soon after joining law school, she stopped writing. She speaks Gujarati, English, Hindi, and bit of Marathi. She enjoys furniture painting, dancing, and tending to her plants, when not working. A recent creative writing workshop provided her an opportunity to tap into her creativity and get in touch with a part of herself - which she had truly believed to have lost forever --- after more than two decades of no writing. As a result, a short story written by her titled ‘Multa Rehjo (See you Sometime)’ is included in this year’s Chapbook ‘Volume 5 2023/24 – Opening Doors Through Stories: Home’ published in partnership with Saskatchewan Writers' Guild (SWG) and Regina Open Door Society Inc (RODS).
