I am a Newfie Traveller.
My name is Gerry Jones. I am an author, writer, journalist and a union and social activist.
I was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, and lived most of my adult life on the mainland. While the "Rock" is my "home" in the true sense of the word, Canada is my playground. I currently live in Regina, Saskatchewan.
I worked as a journalist for most of my paid working life. My words world began as a freelance writer. I pounded the keys of a typewriter at a newspaper for a couple of years before moving to the CBC where I played in radio and television.
Now that I am sort of retired I get to do the things I really want to do when I want to do them, at least most times. I do lots of fun stuff, like golf, downhill skiing, and travelling. I also write and sometimes I do way too much volunteer work.
I am a member of The Writers' Union of Canada
