Areas of creative and academic interest: Indigenous Literature, Poetry, and Film; Geneaology; Memory and Trauma Studies; Short Fiction; Fixed Form Poetry; Literary and Film Theory
Writing: I write poetry, short fiction, and essays. I have previously published both fixed and free verse poetry with Echolation, [SPACE], and Prism International, as well as film criticism essays with Splice Magazine. I am currently awaiting publication for a chapter on Métis fixed form poetry through a manuscript with the University of Manitoba Press
Music: I was trained in rudimentary music theory for voice and piano. As an amateur songwriter, I have written music for voice, piano, and guitar; I have performed live music on piano and guitar; and I have sung live both as a choral member and as a solo tenor. I have relative pitch.
Professional: Beyond publishing and performing (as listed above), I have assisted professionally as both an editor and a researcher for a variety of projects: from website updates for the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Regina, to academic journal publications, to published monographs (especially The Life Sentences of Rik McWhinney (U of R Press, 2022)
