Joanne White

I am a mother of seven, a former teacher in English colleges and Canadian grade schools, a current farmer and a part-time librarian.

I wrote my very first book "Ambitious Adventures in Organic Farming" this year (2021).  I presented a collection of real-life, funny stories about our successes and calamities during the first year on our new farm, between Lumsden and Regina Beach.  I have sprinkled my accounts with some personal history and anecdotes, and added a final section that catalogues our travel across Canada, following our immigration from the UK in 2007.

"Expect a knee-slapper! The perfect read for anyone who has ever farmed or is interested in the hilarious and not-so-hilarious reality of what it takes to get their food from 'farm to table'."

I try to put a lot of volunteer time into serving my community.  I belong to four different Boards (Lumsden and District Arts Council, Regina Multi-Faith Forum, Lumsden Library and Halo), and I am excited to be a part of Saskatchewan Writers' Guild.

Our certified organic farm remains the focus of our lives, and I run stands at our two local Farmers' Markets: Regina and Regina Beach.
