Judith Silverthorne is a multiple-award winning Regina-based writer. She has lived most of her life in Saskatchewan, in both urban and rural settings, the inspiration for much of her material. As a freelance writer, she has written several hundred articles and columns for newspapers and magazines. She is the author of several children's novel series and a picture book, several of which have been translated into different languages, plus two non-fiction adult books, and a YA novel. She is currently working on adult historical and mystery novels. She has been an art curator, television documentary producer, writer, researcher, and consultant. She does freelance writing, evaluating, editing, proof-reading, book reviews, and critiquing manuscripts for individuals and publishers. She gives numerous author presentations and readings for schools and libraries each year and speaks at special functions and conferences for teachers, writers, and librarians. She also conducts numerous writing workshops, courses and classes. She has been an instructor of film classes for SIAST, a writing instructor at the University of Regina for Continuing Education and at the Lifelong Learning Centre, as well as Writer-In-Residence for several elementary schools and for the Regina Public Library 2018-2019. She was the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild from February of 2010 until July 2017. She currently is a freelance writer, editor, and documentary producer.
