Marie Powell

Marie Powell's castle-hopping adventures across North Wales resulted in her recent young adult fantasy series, Last of the Gifted: Spirit Sight and Water Sight (2020). Marie is an experienced author and journalist, with more than 40 children's books with such publishers as Scholastic Canada, Amicus, Crabtree, and Lerner Lightning Bolt. Her award-winning poetry and fiction appear in anthologies and literary magazines such as Room and subTerrain. Her articles appear in more than 70 national and international print, broadcast and online markets. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, among other degrees. Workshops Offered

Channeling Your Creativity

Group Size: 5-15

This workshop will provide an opportunity to generate writing in multiple genres: poetry, fiction, and short creative non-fiction. Using a combination of presentation, discussion, and hands-on writing activities, we will examine the various print and online resources that can inspire writing and stimulate the participant\'s writing life.
