Moni Brar is a Punjabi, Sikh Canadian writer, photographer, educator and farmer. Her creative work explores the role of power and privilege in the immigrant experience, the colonization of nations, peoples, and women’s bodies, and the intergenerational effects of religious violence in the Punjabi diaspora community. Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, an Alberta Magazine Publishers Association Poetry Award, and shortlisted for a number of poetry contests.
