I am inquisitive and reflective by nature, and when I changed my employment status from full-time to casual in 2018, I knew the path forward would become clear if I were open to change.

I had no plans to start a podcast, lifestyle and food blogs or to do freelance writing. I read an article about blogging, became intrigued, started writing, and haven’t stopped. Having my own writing space allows me the creative freedom to write about whatever piques my interest: non-fiction historical stories, articles about world events, and collective human experiences.

One thing led to another, and I opened a gift shop, selling handmade bath and body products online, at craft shows, and from home. Eventually, I began collaborating with other independent businesses to sell my products at their establishments.

I find joy in having something of my own that I can put my name to; my projects' diversity challenges and engages me. On any given day, you can find me writing, making products, or recording a podcast episode.

Many of my short stories have been published in magazines such as More of Our Canda, Prairies North and Folklore. My Saskatchewan History Short Story Collection Blog and Podcast received a Heritage Saskatchewan Award in 2023.

Children's stories are my true passion. My first picture book, One More Story for Ava, was released in September of 2024 by Ahelia Publishing and my second book, A Home for Bonnie, will be available in the fall of 2024 by Lilac Arch Press.

My husband and I are farm-raised, small-town Saskatchewan people. We have a daughter, a son, and five grandchildren. I like reading, spending time in my garden, boating, and fishing.

Believe in yourself and keep reaching for what fulfills you.
