Vijay was born in Kashmir India and has made Canada her home since 1973. She is a painter and an emerging writer. Her nonfiction piece'" The Jade Bracelet" was published in Spring, a literary magazine published biannually by Saskatchewan writers Guild. Vijay's current project is a fictional narrative set in seventies Toronto. Prior to her vocation as an artist vijay worked as a management consultant to fortune 500 Companies in the area of Productivity, business development, and training . Her work took her across Canada, USA and Europe. She Moved to Saskatoon in 2003 to near her family and father.
