Monica Johnson mentored by Tanya Reimer

Monica Johnson is an accountant, sociologist, and debut novelist. She always wanted to write, but never thought it was a real job. After career and family, she returned to her childhood passion and writes the stories she loves to read: women having adventures and falling in love. She has long believed that science fiction is a place you can reflect our world from new angles as well as imagine better worlds.

She has been published in several anthologies and journals and is a member of the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild, Saskatoon Writers’ Club Inc., and Women’s Fiction Writers Association.

Born and raised on the Saskatchewan prairies, Tanya Reimer draws inspiration from the tranquil setting to craft her not-so-peaceful speculative fiction. Her literary journey began at fifteen with her first column, and she has since published six novels spanning alternate history, sci-fi, and supernatural fantasy. Under a pen name, she explores forbidden romance with six additional novels. Beyond fiction, Tanya’s passion for storytelling extends to articles, newsletters, short stories, yearbooks, historical magazines, grant writing, and her blog, Life’s Like That. She is currently dreaming up her next magical adventures.
