BRINGING YOUR WRITING TO LIFE with MARILYN FREY
In the craft of writing, you might have heard the phrase, “Show, Don’t Tell.” It is one of the most common pieces of advice in writing circles. In this workshop, you will explore what that means and how understanding it can help you, as a writer, learn when to use both appropriately. You will have plenty of exercises to experiment with balancing “show” and “tell” in your own work.
Marilyn Frey is a seasoned facilitator and a longtime member of the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild. In 2023, she secured first place in Micki Findlay’s international 50-word contest. Marilyn has authored two books, Reflections in a Farmhouse Window and Wilma, and has published short stories in anthologies and magazines, including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Fun on the Farm 3, Our Canada, and Folklore. Writing is her passion, and Marilyn is eager to support you on your own writing journey.
