2020 Fall Conference
and AGM

The SWG Annual Fall Conference and AGM will be held October 22-25, 2020.  The theme of our conference is Inventing the Future; an apt theme as we navigate new ways of learning and being together as a writing community. Our conference will look a bit different than “usual” this year, but we’re very excited to bring you a mix of creative online programming and small in-person events in Regina.

All conference details are available on this website. Here you can browse through our incredible offerings, register and pay to reserve your spot at the conference, and support the Guild by bidding on our online silent auction (see below for the link). We’ve got some of our usual favourite Conference offerings, like our annual Hicks Award and Caroline Heath Memorial lecture and some brand-new options like a weekend-long Virtual Writer-in-Residence program and our new Small Talks series, which are available for conference participants to watch and think about for 30 days.

New this year, we are offering conference attendees the opportunity to submit their work to one of our Conference Virtual Writers-in-Residence, who will be available to discuss your writing between Oct 22-25. We’re excited that Lisa Bird-Wilson, Dave Margoshes and Edward Willett are our VWiRs for the weekend. Registration for this program is now closed.

Due to rising cases of COVID-19, we have moved all of these events to a virtual format, so you can participate safely at home. Our Annual General Meeting will be held virtually on Saturday October 24 at 2:30 pm, and all SWG members are encouraged to attend.

Anyone is welcome to watch the John V Hicks Long Manuscript Award online on Thursday Oct 22 @ 7:00 pm; to receive the event registration link, please email programs@skwriter.com.

This video welcomes you to the conference and offers important information about our scheduled program and how you can participate in all of our virtual offerings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gNa9BJil2g

The SWG's annual fundraising auction has now moved online! Frankensell: The Modern Auctioneer has great items to bid on. Open between noon October 19 and noon October 26. All proceeds go to supporting our programs for writers across Saskatchewan. Please see https://www.32auctions.com/swg for all auction items.

We hope you enjoy our conference this year!
