Elizabeth Merasty is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and is a descendant of Rock Cree and Scottish ancestry.  A northerner at heart, Liz has called the Saskatchewan prairie home for the past decade. She lives on a grain farm with her husband, three children and a herd of bison.

Inspired by the strong women in her family lineage, Liz continues to learn about traditional uses of medicinal plants, healthy relationships and to learn from the land. She shares rich cultural knowledge in a hands-on way as well as through the power of story. As a mom, teacher and consultant, Elizabeth enjoys the adventure of learning and revitalizing the Cree language and culture.  She holds a Certificate in Indigenous Languages, a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Saskatchewan.
