Carrie Biner (She/They) is a non-binary, transfem Butch poet and spoken word artist living and creating in oskana kâ-asastêki in Treaty 4 territory (colonially known as Regina, SK) and on the Homeland of the Métis. Her poetry focuses on themes of sex and gender identity, memory, mental health, queer love and resistance. She is inspired by the oral tradition of spoken word poets and loudmouth queers, and the radical politics of the punks, butches and trans activists who came before them.
Their work has been featured in The Lilac Journal, SLIT Magazine, and now, spring. They are a regular performer at Word Up Regina. In 2025, their poem “Trans Day of Invisibility” was awarded second place at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival Poetry Slam in Regina.
She lives in Regina with her partner and their cat.
