Carrie Biner (She/They) is a non-binary, transfem Butch poet and spoken word artist living and creating in oskana kâ-asastêki in Treaty 4 territory (colonially known as Regina, SK) and on the Homeland of the Métis. Her poetry focuses on themes of queer identity, memory, mental health, love and resistance. She is inspired by the oral traditions of loudmouth transsexuals and spoken word poets, and the radical politics of the punks, butches and trans activists who came before them.
They have contributed to The Lilac Journal, Guilty Butch zine, and have poems forthcoming in SLIT, Queer Toronto Literary Magazine, and spring. In 2025, their poem “Trans Day of Invisibility” was awarded second place at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival Poetry Slam in Regina.
