Veronica Fabian is an MFA Writing student who obtained their BA from the University of British Columbia at the Okanagan campus. Veronica is interested in exploring the fantasy and science fiction genre to demonstrate not only the various forms of magic in the world, but the deep connections we have with other people. Their minor in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies offers a critical lens when writing about such well-established genres. Veronica's current thesis project is a short story collection that examines the core principles of well known monsters from Western culture in the modern era. For example, using ghost hauntings to tackle the loss of a parent and grieving the unspoken conversations.
