Call for Applications for 2022 Summer Writers’ Retreats

The SWG is now accepting applications for the Writer and Artist Summer Retreat for the weeks of July 8-29, 2022.

Writer and Artist Retreats are for established and practicing writers and artists who are able to work independently. These are offered to writers and artists from Saskatchewan and other parts of Canada. Please note that these retreats are not teaching situations, but places where established and practicing writers of all genres, are expected to work independently.

The fees are $400 for in-province SWG members, $500 for out-of-province SWG members or SK-based non-members, and $600 for out-of-province non-members. Studio fees for visual artists are $100 per week.

This retreat will be held at St. Peter's Abbey in Lower Severin Hall. All participants receive a private room with an ensuite bathroom and all meals for 7 days. Retreatants are responsible for their transportation to and from the retreats, but carpooling may be available.

Please read the Retreat Application Guidelines before submitting your application. To apply, please go here

Eligible emerging Saskatchewan writers may apply to the Judy McCrosky Bursary to cover retreat fees.

The application deadline is 4:30 pm on May 25, 2022. We may still accept late applications from qualified writers: a $35 late fee will be applied to the retreat fee.
