The SWG is now accepting applications for the Writer and Artist Retreats for the weeks of July 7-28, 2023.

Writer and Artist Retreats are for established and practicing writers and artists who are able to work independently. These are offered to writers and artists from Saskatchewan and other parts of Canada. Please note that these retreats are not teaching situations, but places, where established and practicing writers of all genres, are expected to work independently.

The fees are $425 for in-province SWG members, $525 for out-of-province SWG members or SK-based non-members, and $625 for out-of-province non-members. Studio fees for visual artists are $100 per week.

This retreat will be held in Scholastica Residence. All participants receive a private room with shared bathroom facilities and all meals for 7 days. Retreatants are responsible for transportation to and from the retreats, but carpooling may be available.

Eligible emerging Saskatchewan writers may apply to the Judy McCrosky Bursary or the Anne Campbell Memorial Scholarship. Applications for scholarships must be received at the same time as the retreat applications.
